How many people warm up their Explorer ST before driving?

As long as the oil has a chance to be fully circulating and you don’t tromp on it until it’s warmed up a bit, I don’t see why idling longer than 30-60 seconds is necessary.

The engine and trans will warm up faster by driving, and the driveline fluids and whatnot won’t warm up at all without driving.

It doesn't necessarily get cold where I am, 36 is about the lowest temperature I see, but my vehicle is garage kept and I start and go. I wont push the engine before things are warmed up, but I don't let it sit and idle either. It warms up faster under load.

It's a must in my opinion. I live 1.5 miles away from the highway I take for work. I like to let things get to normal operating temp before I get going. I wish it had a turbo timer so they can get down to temp before I shut it off.

I usually allow the ExpST and/or Raptor to run until the cats fast-warmup is complete. It takes a bit longer in cold weather but pretty quick in warmer weather. Generally about a minute or so. I use remote start a lot, so when I get into the vehicle it is ready to go. They both sit outside the garage as it is full of other toys/projects.
