dumb question, whats button below park brake do?

It’s the brake hold. Once you press you can take your foot off the brake once you come to a complete stop. I think it’s annoying and never used it on any car it comes on. I guess it’s for weak people that have no leg strength to hold down the brake pedal in traffic or at a light.

Lol well I guess with that logic, you don’t use cruise control either right? Thats also for weak people who can’t manage to keep their foot pressed on the gas while driving.

it seems like a liability issue to me, maybe its for old FL people they put it on when dropping grandkids off to school

I like to use everything on the vehicle I paid for. Unfortunately I don't get much use of the second and third row seats, cargo area, towing or off-road capabilities but that is not by choice.

Agreed. They are convenient features. I have a buddy who ordered a 22 gladiator. I asked if he got it with the safety tech. He said no I hate that stuff. I know it’s cause he never tried them before. Once you do, you realize how nice they are. Are they necessary? No. But they’re still awesome to have.

I use it all the time even sitting in the drive-thru's !! Hell I even used it manually for a while before I pressed the wrong button one day and discovered it was automatic.

The dangerous thing about all these features is once you are left without them either because you're driving another vehicle or the system fails, you don't remember how to drive without the features and safety systems.

I sort of agree but also disagree. those of us that grew up driving without any of these features, I think we’d be just fine. The teenagers now learning to drive, those I do slightly worry about it. Blind spot monitoring should never replace physically looking. But I’m willing to bet it does replace that idea and concept in new drivers.

Personally I use it in the drive through just because its convenient. I think you are putting yourself on a pedestal a little to much, if people really had issues holding a brake peddle then they probably should not be driving. Just because you don't use the feature doesn't mean others don't enjoy it.

A feature that cost next to nothing to have in a car. The vehicle was going to have rear electric brakes regardless of features, all they had to do was add a button and add a program to hold the rear brakes, its an easy way to make the car more appealing at an extremely low cost.
