Just got my borla S installed. Would have liked it a bit louder, but it will grow on me. Look at the exhaust tips. On one side they are basically welded together. On the other side, a small gap. Is it me, or am I overreacting?

I have the Borla Atak system and also wished it was louder, but it is much better then stock.

It would annoy me to have my pipes touching at all.

Are those brand new?

Because that pitting would also bother me a lot... unless its not pitting and just dirty.

I would expect them to have consistent space/gap on both sides, especially given the price. Have you tried 'gently' prying the touching ones apart?

I agree with the others, gap should be consistent for a name brand exhaust.

It would bug me also. If you want it louder go with downpipes. It opened up my S type a lot and I love the note.

Yeah either got damaged and bent in shipping or that is a product failure in quality control of parts.

Contacted by Borla support. Advised that they will replace under warranty. I’ll know more tomorrow. Borla, so far, has been super responsive.

Borla reports that they will ship replacement parts in 14 days. Super cool rep helping me.

The exhaust should get louder as it burns in.

My Borla Exhaust S type are also SLIGHTLY off in spacing between each pipe. It drove me crazy for awhile.

But with not being able to make a phone call for more than 5 mins, it's now LOW on my list of things that bother me from Ford.

Thanks. I found Borla real easy to work with so far.

New parts arrived. Transformation from chrome to black tips. I think turned out great. Only wish the muffler was painted black as well. I might do that later. Borla super easy to work with. 5 stars.

Think I’ll paint the muffler part facing back a flat black.
