Hi,

Has anyone taken off the front plate bracket? If so, any instructions or tips on how to do it?

Ordering the color matched bumper plugs on bumperplugs.com so need some help taking the bracket off.

Thanks!

I did mine last weekend. Drill out the bumper rivets and pry them out. I just use black plastic rivets from local auto parts store to plug the holes. Whole just took literally 10 minutes.

Awesome, yeah i saw a video on youtube for the old generation explorer , but didn't know if it was the same.

You can actually get color matched bumper plugs at: https://bumperplugs.com/bumperplugs-for-ford

I have the carbonized grey also. Great choice!

Any idea what diameter the holes/plugs are? Having a hard time swallowing $30 when I can try white ones from Amazon for $7ish.

Bit the bullet and purchased the $30 ones from Bumperplugs. Expensive but perfect fit right away. I’m in the wrong business lol

What are you all using for the center hole down in the black plastic?

I have been trying to get a front license plate bracket since I bought my St several months ago. Generally GA only requires a read plate EXCEPT for Handicap Disabled Veterans Plates. Every time dealer tries to order it they're told it is on back order and can not be ordered at this time. They've shown me the screen each time.
So if one of you that has removed the Front Plate bracket wants to sell me yours I'd greatly appreciate it. Just let me know how much with postage and I'll promptly send you a check or if you prefer a money order. Thanks...

If you still need one I’m removing mine in the next few days and I’ll send it over! Shoot me a PM

Do you guys not have to have a front plate or are you just blowing off the law?

Front plates are required in CA but I’ve never run one and never had a problem. I keep the front plate in my glove compartment just in case but have never had to reach for it.

Only Handicap Veterans here in GA are required front plates AFAIK and while I was without my front plate, see precious posts, I was called out for it by GA State Patrol three times and Local LE several times. Kept a "back ordered" receipt to show. I know a couple of others who don't have the front plate and say they've never been called on it. Just my luck I guess...

Ohio now only requires a rear plate with the proper current stickers

What color did you go with? The website doesn’t list the star white tricoat

Star white pearl and black if you have a hole in the lower area. The black ones come gloss black but it works very nicely. Definitely go Bumperplugs

Order Star White Pearl. Confirmed with bumper plugs before ordering and they were perfect match.
