Sadly, with the significant decontent of the Explorer over the last several years, my 5th Explorer might be the last one in my garage. The loss of the moon roof, the deletion of all the creature comforts (yes, I want camera washers and a lid on the front console) and now a 15hp reduction due to new required emissions equipment??? Here is a partial list of all the "decontented" items noted on this forum since the 2020 model...

Windsheild De-ice
4 Bolt RearDif (added auto engage parking brake)
Metal cargo hooks
Reversable cargo shelf cover
Handsfree Liftgate
Engine Start/Stop Indication on keyless ignition switch
Glovebox Light
Center Console Storage Light
Eliminated Center Console (cupholder) Ambiant Lights
4G LTE Modem (chip shortage)
360 Camera (chip shortage)
Rear HVAC Controls (chip shortage)
Ft/Rear Camera Washers
Engine Remote Start 2-way Indication on keyfob
Self Parking / 4 side parking sensors
Multicountour seats (chip shortage)
Separate Lane Keep Control switch on stalk (moved Lane Center control to Sync screen)
ST Branded Keyfob
Keyless Entry (brought back as option in 26)
Electric Memory Tilt/telescopic Wheel
Rear Door Shades
Operable Moonroof
Wireless Phone Charger
Front Center Console Storage Lid and Light
Spare Tire

The same could be said for eliminating the ST SUV Experience - though undoubtedly a considerable expense, this was a significant brand investment as evidenced by the enthusiasm found on this forum.

Ford will need to bring back all the reasons the ST beat out all the competition or you will lose your brand loyal customers to the competition. People are losing their mind that the ST badge on the key fob was eliminated. Why? Because they paid $60k+ and there is pride in the ST brand. Ford is diluting the brand and losing customers with these "value engineering" decisions.

Here is hoping Ford leadership realizes this as they design the 7th gen Explorer.

This is ironic. I first heard the word “decontent” from a Ford engineer working in the UK. That was more than 20 years ago.

sunroof appears to be back for 2027. As well as the 3.0 in the Platnium

That is a significant list of deleted items. Really doesn't make sense for a lot of these, st fob, glove compartment light, console light, hands free liftgate. Just minimal cost that helps the product stand out over competition.
