Hi all,

I have a 6 month old 2025 Active 200A with 700 miles on it. I know that this is an ST Forum, but you guys seem to be much more knowledgeable than the guys on other Explorer forums, and there is about triple the activity here compared to them. I used to own 3 auto repair shops before I retired, and I am also ASE Certified and I might even be able to help you with your problems.

I want to install the keypad on the driver's door. Mechanically, there is no problem---The procedure is straight forward and is explained in the shop manual. As I said above, I used to own 3 auto repair shops and mechanical disassembly and reassembly doesn't scare me. My problem arises when I try to use ForScan to set a couple of parameters. I know that the keypad has to be enabled in the BCM and the APIM, and then you have to do the LIN relearn. I just installed ForScan onto a brand new laptop. Everything went well with the install and Forscan recognizes the truck properly. When I go and display the BCM parameters, everything looks OK. However, when I try to display the APIM parameters, I get a warning message. The message says "Is this vehicle equipped with Sync 4" ??? When that message comes up, my choices are Yes or Cancel. I thought Ford does not use the Sync protocol on the 2025 Explorers. The message also says that if the vehicle IS NOT equipped with Sync 4 that module damage could occur if I proceed. So, I hit cancel and I cannot see or modify any APIM parameters. Are 2025 Explorers equipped with sync 4 ??? I thought Google controls everything, unless they call that Sync 4.

Another thing I need help with is saving the "As Built" data to ForScan. Can everything be saved at once, or does it have to be done module by module ???

Thanks in advance for your help.

RON
