Hello,

Hope all is well.

I have 2 questions.

1. What is the proper way to do a reset/restart the infotainment system for the 2025 Ford Explorer ST when not using Android Auto.

I see on posts to hold the power button down for 10 seconds which doesn't do anything. I also see hold the power button down and the fast forward button together for 10 seconds ( which we don't have on the 2025)

A couple times a week now the maps aren't loading up and the street names aren't showing.

Is there a way to do a restart or a fix to get the maps loaded with the street names in the car.

2. When using android auto and I click on google maps it will load up there but on the right side of the string it shows my Spotify account even though I'm listening to Sirius Radio. Why wouldn't Sirius be shown on the screen instead of Spotify when listening to Sirius.

Thanks in advance

Doom Crew,

Owner's Manual has two methods:

Press the on/off button quickly 5 times, or,
Hold the on/off button for 10 seconds.

Try the first option since you tried the second option. Also, try doing this with the engine running (although just having the screen on (engine not running) should allow a reset.

Thanks that helped to restart but didn't fix the issue. I guess most people that have the Map not loading up that didn't pay for the extra subscription must be going o car play or android auto so they don't have to look at that mess on the home screen. A real shame that Ford does this. Also getting rid of Alexa when it was supposed to be good for 3 years.

Doom Crew,

I'm not too car screen savvy yet but it must be possible to configure the home screen with the apps you want. I will dig into this little puzzle and see what I can find/learn.

After a update the soft reboot forthe infotainment is pressing the power button 5 - 7 times in rapid successions. The car must not be moving for this to happen.

Couple things to try

First though, the maps needs data to operate. So if you haven't purchased the connected services, then it will not work. But there might be a work around.

If your home Wi-Fi is strong enough, when you are at home try to connect to the home wifi. If your maps show up at home, in the drive way, you should be able to download offline maps and it should work when your not at home. You just have to pre download for trips.

If you do pay for service, then you might need to go into the app (in the vehicle), find the Google maps app, force stop, clear cache and then do a soft reboot. See if that fixed it

If that doesn't you can repeat the above and also clear data from the app. You may need to resign in when complete.

Or you can just continue to use Android Auto.
