    Liftgate Driving Me Insane....

Mine is similarly haunted. It has opened by itself when I’m in the house and the fob is on the table. Sometimes it won’t open or close with the fob, dash switch or under hatch foot swipe. I will just do it manually and in a couple of days, plus or minus, it functions normally again. It is often...

    Transmission issues update

OK, it’s been a month and several hundred miles since the new transmission installation. So far, so good, and that’s all I have to say about that. Fingers continue in crossed mode. How are the rest of y’all coming along with your transmissions?

    Transmission issues update

Santa just got his sleigh back. It has a brand new transmission. I’m hopeful that the issue has been resolved but I remain skeptical. Fingers crossed. Damn, I miss that minivan!

    Transmission issues update

Well, my Sleigh is on a 2 week sabbatical (so far) at the dealership. They have ordered a new tranny but no approval from Ford to put it in. They must demonstrate and prove “point of failure”. Apparently that requires breaking down the transmission. A “roller clutch” is suspected. The service...

    Transmission issues update

Further update on Santa’s Sleigh. I have another appointment end of the month. Nobody knows nuthin’. But, they told me they will get to the bottom of this issue. I also have a little better understanding of the “buyback” exercise. Depreciation, added accessories, you eat it!

    Transmission issues update

Been in touch with Ford Customer Service. I have a case number now. My dealership admits they have no idea what the problems are and I respect that. I want to keep the vehicle but I want it fixed. I still don’t think anyone knows what the root of the problem is! I will give them another chance...

    Transmission issues update

Well, I’m back at the dealer with my ST. I was able to recreate the transmission issues for the tech. He’s looking at it now. Spoke with the service manager who told me they’ve had similar issues with the F150; same transmission. Says the transmission gets confused here in the mountains with...

    Transmission issues update

Well, I got the ST back after not quite 2 weeks. Apparently they installed a “kit” to correct the problem. Kinda tells me the issue is prevalent enough to formulate a plan, short of a recall. I had two hard down shifts on the way home, which is about 30 miles, up and down a mountain. I will...

“Bumper Tap”, eh? Sounds like you’ve driven NASCAR!

    Transmission issues update

The first thing I noticed was a smell I could not identify and subsequently have come to decide it is transmission fluid. That has not been confirmed. Next I experienced sharp bucking and jerking on down shifts into sixth gear. It now happens with engine breaking even with rev matching and with...

    Transmission issues update

Damn, that’s frustrating. Mine had 7K when it all started. I now have almost 11K. Fingers crossed, I reckon.

    Transmission issues update

In North Carolina where I am, I’m told they get four attempts and then it’s a lemon. Buy back will of course be discussed if necessary. If there are a significant (whatever that is) number of us, class action might make sense. The reality for me is that I love the vehicle. I just want it fixed.

    Transmission issues update

Thanks for responding. Mine is finally supposed to go in next week, assuming they have obtained the parts. In the mean time the ST continues to buck and sputter. Please report on your next experience.
