I had all of the same issues and spent hours trying to get things to work. What finally worked was using the RWDATA cleaner utility from Cyan Labs (did a hard reset and two soft resets first). This finally allowed me to run the update and it finished in 20 minutes and fixed everything.

I’m on my third attempt at doing this. Master reset, two soft resets, then insert USB. Each time was over an hour and I gave up. This time over 1.5 hrs it just says updating system software. I guess it starts and just hangs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My 2020 had this and it was the main reason for my buyback. It took over 90 days at the dealership to fix. Four different times they said it was fixed and I would go to pick it up and none of the passenger doors would lock/unlock. They finally replaced the BCM. This now just started on my 2021...

That back panel just pulls off. Super easy. Looks like it would just be a matter of getting the updated rear panel and swapping them out.
