I believe your dealer is correct. Ford gave me a check equal to 4 car payments due to our car being on the lot for 4 months.

Success! We were able to pick up our new 2023 ST! the only thing they did to satisfy the recall was performing the software update. No hardware was changed out.

We are picking up our ST this afternoon. If we get to drive off the lot with it, I will ask them what all they had to do in order to release it and report back with what was said and our dealership information.

From what the dealer told me, it’s only on new vehicles. Used vehicles should be fine. I’m not a ford employee, just going off of what I was told.
