How many miles did you put on your original breaks?

143,950km (~89,392mi) and they were finally done.

2025 Explorer Hands Free Tailgate Release

I yoinked its wires and put it to death a few years ago. Never looked back since lol

2025 Explorer Hands Free Tailgate Release

Take it from me, who suffered many months with that hands free tailgate shutting on my f**king head while I was standing under it (I’m probably half an inch shorter now from all those hits lol) and not opening when I wanted it to, opening at random, etc…….you’re very very glad you didn’t get a...

Lift gate won't open and is constantly triggering alarm SOLVED!

Add this one to the ‘things I wouldn’t have expected to be the solution’ box. Glad it’s fixed!

Lift gate won't open and is constantly triggering alarm SOLVED!

My only other guess is a faulty control module or something of that nature. I assume this happens anywhere and not just when the car is parked in once specific location (making me think about interference)?

Lift gate won't open and is constantly triggering alarm SOLVED!

Wonder if the latch mechanism is bad…I would assume the latch has a built-in sensor to recognize whether it’s closed or not. Had a similar issue with the hood latch on a previous car, and I just cut the wire and permanently looped them together so that the latch thought it was permanently closed.

    Key Fob Question

It’s always at the worst time too, like 5am in my driveway and the horn blows twice for the missing key, waking up the neighbourhood lol

    Key Fob Question

Mine does that occasionally. I consider it a glitch, but to minimize the number of occurrences I replace the battery with a fresh one. Seems to do the job. These vehicles and all modern vehicles are so laiden with electronics that, along with the amount of RF interference around us all the...

    "Clack" Sound In Reverse

See if it happens when, after reversing, you shift back to drive and try moving forward. Mine did the same thing, and it was a faulty driver side rear axle shaft.

    Fuel octane?

Good to see this octane conversation is still alive and kicking. For anyone who may be reviewing this thread looking for advice on long-term effects of using 87 octane in one of these vehicles: for reference, when I made the post I quoted above in Feb 2021, I was at around 25,000km or so on the...

How many miles did you put on your original breaks?

126,500km (aka 78,000ish miles) and I’m still on the originals. Last report was I still had 4 or 5mm left, which was an oddly long time ago but no squealers squealing or grinding yet, so…eternity brakes?

2023 Explorer ST Exhaust stutters on Startup

Stock 2020, has been doing it all along. Only seems to do it on a cold start. Goes away in a short time. I run 87 octane, not sure if it’s possibly adjusting ignition timing to compensate for the lower octane. 120,000km and no problems so far.

After putting in gas car hesitates to start

Out of curiosity, where was it on the car and how long did it take to do? That 1-2 hour quote from the tech left me scratching my head lol

After putting in gas car hesitates to start

My old 2009 Pontiac G8 had the same problem, and it was the evap purge valve. Cheap part, 10 min fix with some light swearing. Not sure where it is on these Fords but the problem sounds eerily similar, so I would agree with the guy above who mentioned it
