Interior chemical smell when sitting in the sun, also seems to be during climate control mixing

It could be this: The issue is a BLOCKED drain relief bladder behind the wheel well splash shield. If it is blocked you will have rain water in the floorboard INTERIOR of the vehicle. This is a DESIGN issue that will require regular maintenance cleaning. Plant debris lands on the front window...

    Water in driver footwell

This is a DESIGN issue that will require regular maintenance cleaning. The issue is a BLOCKED drain relief bladder behind the wheel well splash shield. Plant debris lands on the front window cowl and makes its way BEHIND the splash shield and clogs everything up. This probably applies to all of...

    Water Leak When It Rains

There are no front window cowl grates to keep leaves and debris out of this location. The potential for soaked floors in the vehicle is very high if the black rubber drains are not cleaned regularly and you park under trees. If you have wet floors in your Explorer, and you have ALREADY...

CONFIRMED- You have to clean the bladder out: I went to a far NW Chicago suburb (that my BIL works at) and spoke to the FORD service manager and asked about the wet floors and that drain relief bladder behind the wheel well liner on the firewall. He stated: "Of course, IT HAS TO BE CLEANED...

    Water Leak When It Rains

Top LEFT pic is the bladder exposed after partially pulling the wheel well lining out of the way. I did not remove the tire, I just put the ST on a jackstand and turned the wheel to the left. Had to remove a couple of retention pop pins, a small retaining screw, a nut-washer in order to deform...

Welcome to the Explorer ST Forum, please post an introduction

Jim from Chicago, Illinois. My 2007 5.7 Chrysler 300 was showing its age along with frame/body rust. I asked my son from Streetcar Shenanigans Performance what I should get. "Explorer ST", he said. Got myself familiar with it and started looking for a used one with low miles. April 2023 found a...

Water leak passenger side carpet wet. 2020 St.

Had a similar problem with my '22 ST. I think I have tracked it down to the rubber relief bladder mounted behind the driver side wheel well lining, on the engine side of the firewall, below the engine bay fuse box. On the liner, removed a pop pin, a small retaining screw, a nut-washer in order...
