Yeah, this is in line with my current thinking. Finding something that makes it sound better but increases loudness by no more than say 10% is probably a pipe dream (pun intended).

Does anyone have any empirical data that show sound pressure levels in dB (i.e., loudness) inside the cabin for various exhaust systems available for STs? There are lots of very good and useful posts comparing the various manufacturers' systems and anecdotal commentary about how loud they are...
