Just a thought. I assume I'm safe if this ST I'm buying doesn't have the recall on the Carfax? It does have the recall# 25s27 (UPDATE IPMB SOFTWARE AND PERFORM 360 DEGREE CAMERA ALIGNMENT). But the (Toyota dealer) is bringing to Ford to fix before pickup.

So I guess THE reason it's a problem getting done is the sanding smooth the plastic for paint. I did have the plastic trim done on my old 1999 M3 painted black.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts on the matter. I ended up buying another ST. Just couldn't live with it thinking about it while driving. And if ever sell it having on the Carfax. Anyway, I got a 21 instead of the 22. WITH the moonroof and less miles, 29K instead of 31K. It was 2K more in price...

This is all true. But at this point I'm on the other side of the fence. I don’t have the car yet. And it would follow the car when selling it. I know what you guys are saying. But it's not a recall for the door handle falling off. It could be a big problem. I've been looking at least 15 to 20...

Another question. Would I be correct in saying if I see other Sts for sale, and the recall is not those looking at carfax by now, I would be safe from it?

Folks I think I'm in a tight spot at the moment. I have a deposit on a (new to me) 21 ST with 31,000 miles. BUT it has the recall (24S55) which is the Valve/Engine Intake issue on Carfax. I looked it up and it could go as far as replacing the engine. I called the National Recall phone number...

It's not at that area. It's the metal looking thin strip going all the way around the screened grill area. Maybe the pic makes it look that way. Say just to the right of the ST logo and going all around. If I had the Explorer I wouldn't be asking since it would be obvious lol.

LOL, that was taken by the dealer. That is one of a few that looks like a metal like trim. But seeing how much you know about these things on these vehicles I'm glad your right! Thanks!

Hey folks Maybe I'm not looking hard enough on here to see if anyone owning a 21 ST has painted the metal looking or SS looking trim that goes around the outside of the grill? I don't like it so besides buying a newer grill, has anyone gone the black paint route?
