Whine / Harmonic Resonance in driveline

fortunately, it is being looked at under warranty. otherwise I would definitely be pulling it myself

Whine / Harmonic Resonance in driveline

not yet. developed an axle click in the past few weeks, getting the rear driver axle and wheel hub replaced soon. probably completely unrelated. gonna throw some thicker fluid and/or friction modifier in soon

Whine / Harmonic Resonance in driveline

They seemed OK, I will check again. No noise when switching to neutral, no change in pitch when turning, so I had ruled them out.

Whine / Harmonic Resonance in driveline

Hi guys, I have a harmonic noise in my rear diff area that the dealer can't find. We have replaced the diff twice, and the driveshaft once. Gonna kind of ramble here, don't know what's relevant, but y'all are pretty smart on here. It sounds very similar to this: Hellcat rear end whine. It...

    Rear differential noise on decel

I’m sure some noise is normal and not cause for concern. For what it’s worth, my ‘22 was dead quiet with the same setup. The noise I’m encountering on the ‘23 cuts through radio and exhaust and lives in your head rent-free. 60 mph is a very unfortunate spot to encounter the issue consistently.

    Rear differential noise on decel

Small update for future readers. Replaced the OEM carrier bearing with a JXB and it made no difference. Driveline feels tighter though, cool mod (y)

Rear differential brace Steeda, Livernois, ID speed

Upgraded with the JXB carrier bearing today. Noise didn't get any better or worse. I can definitely feel the driveshaft now, though. I'd imagine that's expected and doesn't bother me much.

    Strange oil leak…..Any ideas?

Just had my timing cover replaced on my ‘23 too. Dealer happened to catch it while doing plugs. Doesn’t seem to be very common.

    Rear End Failure

Interesting tidbit... the howling is completely absent when it's cold out. It's generally louder the nicer the weather is.

    Rear End Failure

Dealer told me they do tear down the diff, just replace the entire unit and send it back to Ford. Wasn't able to get a good answer.

    Rear differential noise on decel

Follow up to this... I had the rear end replaced again. Both replacements started howling from the second they were installed. No solution yet.

    Rear End Failure

Anyone figure out the howling from the rear diff? I'm on rear end #3 at 18000 miles, they keep finding metal in it and replacing it. 2nd driveshaft too... first one was eaten up. Brand new diffs are howling the second I drive it off the lot. Throwing a driveshaft carrier at it soon.
