I've looked up the cam phaser rattle and the instances I've been able to find seem way different than mine. Mine is a tick that lasts for 5-10 minutes, the cam phasers seem like a really noisy racket for the first 2-3 seconds right after a cold start.

Jacob Hozen, I believe he's the owner. He thinks there might be 2 more sets in the wild with this issue according to a comment he made on my Facebook post about the issue.

Shipped on Sept 13th after a small wait, figured it was a fresh run and they would have had this issue sorted out on the ones got, unfortunately not. SPD has agreed to reimburse me the cost to have them modified to work, so good on them in the CS department.

Picking mine up from the dealer tonight, they also claim they couldn't hear or feel anything wrong with the break pedal *BS*. They said the same thing about my cold engine tick/knock, couldn't reproduce (even though it's not intermittent, it happens every time...).

I believe this is what it is due to the nature that it goes away after the engine is hot, likely a leak at the manifold to the cylinder. I have schedule a service appointment for Monday morning, will drop it off Sunday night so the tech can get a good listen to it at cold start. Also going to...
